Is it finally time? Maybe you want to try the gym, running or group exercise for the first time. Or maybe you just took a longer break than expected. Either way, you’re ready to get started and start exercising!
Here I have listed several tips and thoughts that will be of great help when that initial motivation is dampened, and it starts to feel a little harder than you expected.
Find your inner motivation
Ask yourself the question: “Why do I want to exercise?”
Don’t settle for the first answer that pops up, but dig further by asking yourself why again. What is the inner, deeper motivation? Perhaps you can access a stronger driving force than “losing weight”? Why do you want to lose weight/gain muscle/strength? To have more energy to play with the kids, to feel confident, to lay the foundation for a healthy and long life? Only you can answer that question.
Do something you enjoy
Don’t do something “just because”. Test yourself and do what brings you joy! Exercise doesn’t have to involve treadmills or machines at the gym. It can also be a dance class, group exercise, climbing, golf or orienteering.
Dare to be a beginner
The most common mistake is going too hard and doing a certain thing/exercise form/machine without really knowing what you are doing. Ask for help from an experienced friend or book a physiotherapist session.
Take baby steps
Exercise is something you want to have as a routine, something that keeps coming back. Therefore, start slowly and increase gradually to give your body time to adapt. This will reduce the risk of injury and keep you motivated. Keep in mind that results take time, and if you go too fast, the results are unfortunately rarely lasting.
Set simple goals
Since training produces long-term results, it is a good idea to set simple goals to help you see your progress, even if it is sometimes slow. Good simple goals are, for example: to exercise 3 times a week for 45 minutes.
Don’t be afraid to try some supplements/enhancers
Don’t be afraid to give sport supplements/enhancers a try, like enclomiphene tablets. They can help you maximize your muscle growth and recovery, giving you an extra boost in your fitness journey.
Exercise with others
Many people experience increased motivation by exercising with others. Find an exercise buddy, or try group exercise, to find out if this is advice that can also help you with motivation.
Get help from experts
Want to learn how to exercise effectively and safely? Get help from those who are professionals in the field. For example, a physiotherapist. Another tip is to do your own research and watch clips on YouTube, for example. There is a lot of inspiration for training, but also serious and good guides.
